This is a part-time, contract position.\u00a0 The primary responsibility of the Civil \/ Structural Forensic Engineer (FE) is to perform\u00a0property damage assessments<\/a>\u00a0for residential, commercial, and institutional buildings and be in charge of delivering engineering reports consistent with company standards. This work will involve site visits where the engineer will document the existing conditions, interview the available parties, capture findings, and develop preliminary conclusions on which the report will be based.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Essential Duties and Responsibilities<\/h2>\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t

The essential functions include, but are not limited to, the following:<\/p>

  • Perform various physical tasks during site studies, including climbing stairs, walking on building roofs, and accessing confined spaces (e.g., attics and crawlspaces).<\/p><\/li>

  • Follow safe work practices and use personal protective equipment (PPE) as needed.<\/li>
  • Lift and transport objects weighing up to 50 pounds when required.<\/li>
  • Develop strong interpersonal relationships with clients and internal stakeholders.<\/li>
  • Maintain a courteous and respectful demeanor while addressing others\u2019 needs.<\/li>
  • Communicate effectively with project stakeholders, including internal\/external clients and contractors.<\/li>
  • Prepare, organize, and distribute project-related items to project stakeholders<\/li>
  • Monitor project status, schedules, budgets, and contractors when necessary.<\/li>
  • Produce quality deliverables and complete assignments promptly per company standards.
    Report and escalate project issues to management and help resolve when necessary.<\/li><\/ul>\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

    Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)<\/h2>\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t
    \n\t\t\t\t
    \n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t

    • Bachelor\u2019s degree in Civil, Structural, or Architectural Engineering with 3+ years of engineering experience<\/p><\/li>

    • Licensed Professional Engineer (P.E.) in the advertised state, with potential for additional state licenses.<\/p><\/li>

    • Valid driver\u2019s license and willingness to travel to complete site studies.<\/p><\/li>

    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.<\/p><\/li>

    • Excellent time management and multitasking skills.<\/p><\/li>

    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools, cloud-based software, and\/or project management tools.<\/p><\/li>

    • Solid organizational skills with attention to detail.<\/p><\/li>

    • Dependable and reliable, especially under urgent conditions.<\/p><\/li>

    • Completes tasks and projects with minimal supervision.<\/p><\/li>

    • NCEES Record or willingness to obtain within 3 months is preferred.<\/p><\/li><\/ul>\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t
